Common Sensor Types in a Lumber Kiln:
• Moisture Sensors: Measure wood moisture by inserting or driving pins into the wood
• Pressure Sensors: Monitor airflow or fluid pressure (e.g., in steaming systems)
• Flow Sensors: Measure fluid flow, typically water, used in control shunts and steaming systems
• Magnetic Sensors: Detect magnets, useful for position sensing
• Inductive Sensors: Often used for position sensing, typically as non-contact limit switches
• Mechanical Sensors: Occasionally used, mainly for slack wire switches in lift door systems
• Temperature Sensors: Monitor air temperature in the kiln to control heating and ventilation
For temperature sensors, see the category “Temperature and Humidity”.
