Door Sealing
To seal between the door and the frame, aluminium profiles shaped like the letter “C” are riveted to the door, and an EPDM rubber seal is inserted. We can supply the seal in three different sizes. Two of them can be used all around, and the third, the thickest, is suitable for the bottom edge, especially when the threshold is in poor condition.
In the corners, moulded EPDM rubber door corners are used. The upper corners both seal and prevent the door from being pressed in too far, which could damage the seal. The lower corners seal against the frame and transition from frame sealing to threshold sealing without any leaking joints.
For most door types, the bottom sealing seals downward against the threshold, and the other sides seal inward against the frame. When doors seal downward, we use a robust bottom door cover that spans the full width of the door. This cover is made of 2 mm thick stainless steel and is ideal for attaching the lower corners and aluminium strips for the seal.
