Actuators

Actuators (also called positioners) are used to control a mechanism or mechanical system.

The actuator is activated by compressed air when an E/P converter receives a signal from the control system, resulting in mechanical movement.

Our PS90-80 actuator in strainless steel replaces older models SPK1.4 and MP904. It is designed like a standard pneumatic cylinder with a piston performing the movement. Since the cylinder requires spring return, it has openings on one side, allowing humid air from the kiln to enter.
Therefore, we use a bronze scraper on the piston before the Viton seal. This actuator is used for wall-mounted plate dampers, typically next to the door in chamber kilns, and for operating louver dampers inside the kiln.
