Pressure Drop Dampers

For steam conditioning and high-temperature conditioning, it can be beneficial to use a pressure drop damper. When steam condenses into moisture, a significant pressure drop occurs, which can be mitigated with a pressure drop damper. If the pressure drop is too severe, kiln doors may be sucked inward and damaged.

We offer a solution that can be installed anywhere in the kiln. It consists of a frame with a spring-loaded hatch. When the pressure drops, a solenoid valve in the frame releases the hatch locking pin, allowing more air into the kiln. Once the pressure is restored, the springs close the hatch and the solenoid valve locks it again, ensuring no air leaks into the kiln and restoring the damper’s sealing function.

An optional sensor can be installed to notify the control system when the hatch has been opened, and a locking function can be added so the control system can lock the hatch.
